Updating

It’s been long time since I am writing only blog 🙂 somehow the more “instant, quicker and easier”- facebook has taken over.

We are all seeking in our living instant noodles type of happening, expecting everything to go fast and getting the result fast too.

It maybe a worth while to pause and move slow sometimes; not necessary to reflect back, but just to slow things down. Sharene, my future nephew-in-law said while she was in Scotland, people slow things to chat and get to know each others. This means slowing works down, getting things done in a longer time.

Which is more important, things done or relationship? There is a Chinese phrase, 有得必有失. Which do we want to loose?

Busy busy busy

Wow, been a long time ….

Works is crazy, highly demanding and stress. However, God is good. Spirit remains high, and the joy of the Lord is my strength.

Here’s something simple just for thoughts

Both Love and Forgiveness are not just a feeling. They are a conscious attitude of our mind. They are a choice decision we make.

Kota Kinabalu Work Trip

Woke up early to by 8.50am flight to KK. But went to the wrong terminal. Went T1 instead of T2.

This is a rare occasion when we have 5 colleagues at the same terminal traveling to different locations for work.

Mike, Min Li, Jesscia and Hwee Yin.

Flowers for Wife

Took the opportunity of my afternoon leave for a hair cut and meet my wife after her work.

As I was walking to her office, thoughts of buying her flower came. And behold, while I was walking to the florist at Arcade, Yvonne text me asking if I am buying flower for her 🙂 That’s what 13 yrs of marriage does …..

Sitting at One Raffles Place (ex-OUB Centre), brought back not only memories of Dr Lien and my fellow ex-colleagues but also memories of me with the purple tulips waiting for Yvonne at Aiwa @ Lower Delta House, her first job, when I was courting her. The memory brought a smile to my face.

After all these years, still having the warm fuzzy feeling…. Loving my wife forever 

Concern, Care & Love

From the response of people towards a friend after her accident, I came to awareness of the following

Concern – visit her once in the hospital.

Care – visit her at home once when she is discharged. Sms or email her sending regards and asking for update.

Love – visit her in hospital, home, sms, call, be there, time spend, meets needs ….

As a Christian, what can we show to a person in need?

As a leader/ mentor in the church, how can we express Christ love and servanthood?

As a member in church, what should be do?

As a family, friend, church leader, fellow member, did we show enough love? Are we too busy with our own work, busy schedule, etc and forget to show love. Thinking a mere care and concern is showing love?

Koala Courts Apartment – “home” for the next 6 days

Andy Patrick together with his wife Ruth run the nice little apartment. They are “kiwi” staying in the land of koala…..

Andy picked us up at the airport this morning. Very friendly and easy guy to chat with. He gave us lots of information and great suggestions of our itinerary.

The apartment is truly self contain…(I’ll leave the pic for Yvonne to post) and tell you people more about Koala Courts Apt.

The itinerary Yvonne planned was to rest and relax…shopping, food…as we were all tired out by the journey here. Andy suggested Cairns Central, the largest mall here. Big place, with lots of small boutique style shops and some familiar names we know. There are also Myer, Target and 2 very large groceries store.

They have an International Food Court at level 1. Well, kind of disappointing though…not much variety compare to Singapore.

Here’s what we ate for lunch.

Yvonne's. Baked potato covered with parsley and salted

Ck's. Baked chicken.

Nathan's. Salmon Sushi...not in pic MacDonald nuggets

Cairns 2010 – Journey to Cairns, Australia

Finally, we took off….around 8.30pm in Jet Star Air Bus 321 (I think).

This trip marked my first trip transiting middle of the night. The ETA was 9.20am, Australia time (about 2 hrs before Singapore).

Nathan sleeping at around Aussie time 3am. Most of them are asleep..

Darwin transit hall was super boring.  Adding-on to the late hours, most travellers choose their spot either on the seats or on the floor…and just sleep.  There was this Singaporean guy that snored so loudly….(not me hor).

Outside the airport. Fresh air ....

We arrived at the Cairns Airport around 10 plus am.  The owner of the apartment we are staying, Andy Patrick, picked us up after we called him.  It’s kind of their standard practise to call after we collected our luggage.

Will update more later.  Think Yvonne will also post pics at facebook.
