Hospitalized again after like 14 plus years

Am now in Mount Elizabeth Hospital, was admitted yesterday afternoon due to severe Epstein Barr virus infection of the throat. Simply put ulcers, lots of them in my throat.

It all started last Thursday, was having fever and a bad throat. Doctor gave me some fever and anti inflammation medicines. However, the fever did not subside by Saturday, it lingered around 38-39 C. The throat was even worst, I could not drink water and even swallow saliva was an agony process.

By Sunday more, I have had lost 2 kgs from this ordeal. Did not eat or drink for a good 2 days. Yvonne than insisted I get a referral letter for A&E from our GP. We got it from him Sunday morning, for SGH.

Later, we decide to change to Mt Eliz hospital because we know of an ENT specialist here. He is a very understanding, caring and experienced doctor. He even came back to open his clinic just to see me, so that I can avoid the hefty A&E charges.

I was admitted around 1.30pm on Sunday. My fever was so high I was shivering and need to admit using a wheel chair assistance…..over here, the nice and friendly nurse administered fever medicine, pain killer, antibiotic and the most needed steroid for the quick ease of my agony. And it really works! By Sunday evening, the pain in the throat was like more than 50% lesser. As I typing now the pain is like 70 % lesser and no more fever. Praise the Lord!

Continue to pray for complete healing and no complications 🙂
